But if i have it on a single wav, or a wav for each song, there is no point in the starting point. Same with if the album is put on CD (obviously). I guess if its in a DDP everything is fine. If i send it to the press plant, they wont be able to read the single tracks, if all songs are in one wav. they wont work either, right? Yes WB can read it, but thats not the point. If i export each song seperatly, they are pretty pointless, right?Īnd when i bounce the whole Mix onto one wav. I dont get this whole thing with the start markers in WB. So the question i still have and you guys must have misunderstood me here: I also love the PreView CD, where it plays a few sec at beginning and end of every song!! Waveburner just moves all the regions accordingly, so thats very beneficial! Also the release will probably be burnt to CD to accompany the vinyl, so this way i will still have to add CD-Text etc. When I click the check region for clipping button, all is fine. I just think it makes sense to use that instead of Logic, thats what its for.Īlso i remembered how anoying moving regions in Logic can be. Rounik, Im still having trouble BOUNCING my final Waveburner project b/c of clipping. I actually decided to do the mastering in WB anyways. I was a bit worried i wouldnt get replies or something like, if you dont know that then let someone else do it! I guess everyone starts at some point and i definatly wont go into mastering, its just this one album for now, im far from having the right equipment for mastering :P It is written for users of all levels of experience. You guys have been really great with help. WaveBurner User Manual: This is a comprehensive document that describes the WaveBurner interface, commands, and menus and gives step-by-step instructions for creating WaveBurner projects and for accomplishing specific tasks. When i updated Logic Studio i must of somehow forgotten to update Waveburner as well. You do have the newest version? DDP is a new addition to WB.You wont believe it, but i actually was still running 1.5. I will be contacting the press plant for detail on what format they want, but first i'd like to know what im capable of exporting. Would be greatful for some assistance here. I cant find such an option in waveburner though. Ive read a lot about DDP files and such, so this seems to be some sort of image that preserves the pointers but still puts it in one file. So im wondering what the best way of bouncing is. Hows the pressing plant going to work with this? What about the start markers of the songs? But this puts the whole album in one wav file. I tried this, which i thought might be exactly what im looking for. This means that i will have to send the cd by mail to the press plant. Im not sure what the point of doing this is though, might as well do it in Logic then, right? Then i will get every song by itself as a wav or such. Now im really confused on the bouncing in Waveburner. I wanted to use Waveburner 1.6 istead of Logic, to try it out and see how it "feels". Import SDII Markers As: Here you can choose, if the SDII markers will be used as index markers or track start markers for the CD.Im not a ME, just to make it clear from the start! I work in a mix studio and in live mixing.īut a colleague asked me to master his album and i thought i'd give it a shot! If the SDII file does not contain region definitions, a dialog will ask you, if you want to add the whole file as one region.Īdopt Pause Lengths from SDII Regions: Turn on to use the pause lengths of the original file’s SDII regions for your CD. Switch on to bring multiple SDII regions into WaveBurner. In the SDII preferences you can set how WaveBurner handles the import.Īdd SDII Regions As WaveBurner Regions: If turned off, an SDII file will be imported as a single WaveBurner region. WaveBurner can import files and regions in SDII (Sound Designer II) format. Replace Region with Bounce: When turned on, the new audio file created by choosing Region > Bounce Region replaces the original region (this does not work if the original file is in stereo and the bounced audio file is in mono, as information would be lost, when a stereo file is replaced by a mono file).Ĭlipping Detection Stops Bounce: When turned on, the bounce process is stopped when clipping is detected in the region or project being bounced. The choices are: POW-r #1 (Dithering), POW-r #2 (Noise Shaping), POW-r #3 (Noise Shaping) and No Dithering.įor information about when to use dithering, and the differences between the dithering types, see the Logic Pro 7 Reference Manual. Dithering: This pop-up menu allows you to choose the type of dithering you wish to use when the project is bounced or burned.
